Hodapp & Rothwell, Champions of the Magnet Theater’s 2009 Improv Duo Tournament, bring nearly five years of improv collaboration to stage for an evening of bold, committed characters and probably a fart joke in there for good measure.

About the Group:

Dan has been improvising since 2004 when he discovered the Washington Improv Theater (WIT) in Washington DC.  There he performed with the ensemble Caveat and taught in WIT’s classes program.  He now lives in New York City where he studies improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and performs regularly with the ensembles Reverse 5, Identity Theft, Big Ass Movie, and Hodapp & Rothwell. Dan has improvised all over North America at festivals and theaters including the Chicago Improv Festival, Del Close Improv Marathon, Toronto International Improv Festival, Charleston Comedy Festival, Philadelphia Improv Festival, ImprovBoston, The Kennedy Center.  At WIT he created the improv shows Your Phone Co. and Reindeer Games. Originally from Wilmington Delaware, Dan is a graduate of The College of William and Mary.

Natasha Rothwell began improvising in the placenta but fine-tuned her skills at the University of Maryland where she was apart of the improv troupe, Erasable Inc. and recieved her BA in Theatre Performance. She was in the mainstage company of Washington Improv Theatre (WIT) from 2003 – 2008. During that time she served as the Director of Education; created and directed the resident WIT troupe Caveat; and performed in the show iMusical:The Improvised Musical. While in Washington, D.C. she performed at the Kennedy Center, Studio Theatre, Olney Theatre, and also served as a principal Teaching Artist/Performer for Arena Stage (Community Engagement). Before moving to New York, Natasha spent a year performing and teaching with Spontaeous Confusion, the mainstage cast at the Tokyo Comedy Store in Tokyo, Japan.
